General

Canon Source: Resident Evil
Canon Format: Video Game

Character's Name: Albert Wesker
Character's Age: 48

What form will your character's NV take? A fancy cell phone, of course.

Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Wesker was not aware of the fact for most of his life, but his existence is thanks to the Wesker Project. He is the twelfth of thirteen children all given the surname "Wesker," genetically engineered as part of Ozwell Spencer's plan to create and rule over his own race of superhuman beings. His genes were adjusted for perfection and also made immune to most types of viral mutation. He was raised and educated to Spencer's exact specifications, groomed into a brilliant biologist and trained at the Raccoon City Police Academy for his fake position with S.T.A.R.S..

When he was 38, Wesker injected himself with an experimental virus especially engineered to his DNA (which he was not aware of at the time.) The experiment brought him back from the brink of death with enhanced powers (and an inexplicable faux-British accent.) Wesker has heightened reflexes and strength, easily able to move much faster and jump much higher than an ordinary human being. He also has something of a healing factor-- he can shrug off gunshots or wounds that would cripple or kill others and has a ridiculous tolerance for pain. Besting him in a fight is difficult, but he is not immortal-- massive traumatic injury can still kill him. The only outward physical sign of this mutation is his eyes-- they are bright yellow with catlike pupils, usually hidden behind his sunglasses.

However, all of Wesker's enhanced powers are dependent on his ability to stabilize the virus in his system. He requires daily injections of a serum called PG67A/W in order to stay in peak shape. Without the serum, his abilities will fade. Too much acts as a poison with symptoms including dizziness, pounding headaches and a severe weakening of his abilities. On arrival, Wesker will need to prioritize recreating the serum and getting a steady supply of it to stay up on his dosage.

Though the virus turned him into a ridiculous godmode in nearly every other aspect, canon suggests that Wesker actually has rather poor/sensitive vision (like being unable to see an opponent 20 feet away from him in moderate darkness, and the fact he will go after his sunglasses if you shoot them off his face in this same battle. Perhaps his sunglasses are prescription?)

Weapons: A pistol and a combat knife, kept hidden on his person at all times.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: TL;DR ALERT
Point in Canon: Mid-RE5, after leaving Jill to kill Chris (before he injects himself with Uroboros)

Character Personality:

Albert Wesker might be called a modern-day Renaissance man: he is a brilliant scientist, a cunning businessman and a physical powerhouse with sharp aim, quick reflexes and great strength. He even follows Renaissance philosophy... of the Machiavellian sort. Make no mistake about it, Wesker is a power-hungry, manipulative psychopath. Calculating, ruthless and absolutely amoral, Wesker will do whatever it takes to make sure he comes out on top in any situation-- and he frequently does, no matter who he has to step on in the process.

Wesker is constantly plotting his next move and analyzing those around him. This is so he can predict every possible outcome of a situation and ensure that he will be the one holding the cards when all's said and done. He can be quite charismatic and he's fond of gathering followers and making friends in high places to help him advance his goals. Of course, his alliances are very easily broken and there is a long trail of former partners behind him, still lying in the tire tracks of the bus he threw them under. Nobody is his equal in his eyes, and nobody is too good, too close, or too important to be sacrificed to Wesker's ambition.

For all his maniacal genius, however, Wesker also has the classic flaw of an evil mastermind: his ego. Considering himself far superior than anyone he is going to come into contact with, Wesker is absolutely assured that nobody will ever be smarter or stronger than he is, nor will they ever out-think him or behave differently than he expects them to. While he is usually correct in his assumptions, when someone does defy his carefully-constructed predictions his plans fall apart. He believes himself above typical, foolish human failings and doesn't think he's capable of falling prey to them-- a dangerous assumption to make. His self-assured superiority occasionally trips him up and when things really go to hell, he can be provoked into impulsive, vindictive rage.

If Wesker is bested or one of his plans does turn into a disaster, he is usually able to pick up the pieces and salvage something productive out of it. He always carries himself with a smug cruelty that makes his enemies feel like he just might have won anyway. However, if you do make him look the fool you will have gained yourself a very, very dangerous enemy. A few unlucky individuals have derailed him enough to earn their place as his nemeses, most notably his former colleagues from S.T.A.R.S. (and chiefly Chris Redfield.) Once you have earned his ire, he will make endless adjustments to his plans for the sole purpose of torturing, tormenting and eventually destroying you in the most painful and humiliating manner possible.

For much of his life, Wesker pursued power and domination simply because he wanted it-- unaware at the time that he had been subconsciously "programmed" to further Spencer's agenda. With money, knowledge and the power of corporations at his disposal, he became one of the world's most infamous bio-terrorists and caused thousands of deaths with a wide assortment of viral and parasitic pathogens. He was eventually compelled to seek out the reclusive Spencer, where he learned of his origins as the Umbrella founder's personal science project. After approximately thirty seconds of doubting his entire existence, Wesker murdered the old man and decided to roll with it and pursue his "destiny" of becoming a god.

He believes that humankind is on its way to destruction and that he is the key to saving it. Using biological weapons and viruses, Wesker plans to annihilate the majority of humankind in order to lead the worthy survivors as their god. Everything he does is for that greater purpose, so he doesn't sweat the small stuff like betrayal, mass murder, or launching missiles full of deadly pathogens into the atmosphere. As far as Wesker is concerned, killing lesser beings (ie: pretty much everyone except himself) is an act of mercy, cleansing them from obstructing his path to a better future and a better breed of the human race.

So you see, he's really not a bad guy, if you ask him.

Character Plans:
Wesker, being the mean, nasty, science-minded motherfucker that he is, will definitely be getting involved with SERO. It's a perfect backdrop for him to pretend to be loyal create scientific advances for the good of the company, of course...

It will only last as long as SERO is willing to put up with his obvious personal agenda, and then he will strike out on his own as an independent villain. I foresee him as being a major villainous force in the city and a good foil for many of the heroes, a different sort of villain than we've had before that is more focused on grand gestures of horror/monsters than on crime.

Writing Samples

First Person Sample

[A very slick, businesslike man is on the other end of the NV. The dark sunglasses he wears hide his eyes and any clue as to what the expression on his face really means, though if you use your imagination, it might be... annoyance.]

Let's not bother with introductions.

All I require is information. Provide me with the date, including the year, my approximate location and coordinates, and the manner by which I came to arrive here.

[And then all of a sudden he smiles. It is not a good smile at all, the sort that twists your stomach.]

I apologize for sounding terse. I've had a very long day.

Now tell me what I want to know and do not waste my time.

Third Person Sample

Oh, it had been so long since he had a good intelligence report to look over. Since arriving in this bizarre new city, Wesker had a depressing shortage of people on the inside of the various organizations he wanted information about. It was difficult to wrangle the types of people he insisted upon for his personal employees. So hard to trust people these days... but that little rat down in recordkeeping had been so insistent that he could deliver the goods.

And the goods he delivered. Records, names and information about well over half of the donors at a recent SERO blood drive. Blood types, medical history... why, someone in the offices had even already taken the time to scan through and find valuable candidates. How nice to see some initiative.

Wesker perused the stack with the same straight face he always wore, carefully analyzing the data and mentally fitting the pieces together. A few results looked promising, but there was nothing that really caught his attention. It was unfortunate, but the vast majority of people that even SERO wanted to target were wastes of his time. Suitable guinea pigs, certainly, but there were only so many wriggling, screaming monstrosities one man could create and dispose of before the novelty wore off.

Oh well. Good things came to those who worked hard. He would simply play along with SERO for the time being, until enough information arose that he could really work with. There were no finer facilities on the island.

Not yet, anyway...
